Last year the House passed CACR 6, a proposed Constitutional Amendment that would require a 3/5 majority of the legislature to pass any new or increased taxes or license fees.

CNHT strongly supports this legislation because it allows the people of New Hampshire to set the terms about HOW and IF their taxes may be increased and it makes it more difficult for the political whims of any legislature to change fiscal policy and increase taxes to fund their own agenda on the backs of our residents.

Senate President Peter Bragdon is attempting to circumvent CACR 6 and proposing instead a budget cap that WILL NOT prevent this legislature or any other from raising your taxes.

Contact the members of the Senate Internal Affairs Committee and urge them to oppose the Bragdon amendment!
