A few years ago, The Granite State Fair Tax Coalition tried to mount a campaign against those candidates taking the CNHT Pledge against broadbased taxes by introducing a confusing warrant article on the ballots of NH’s town elections.

Some folks were fooled by it, even though they also voted for less spending. The GSFTC’s article was non-binding but nevertheless, that’s what this is about.

The coalition will be holding a series of forums called Putting Our Money Where Our Mouth is: New Hampshire’s Priorities and Budget starting in late September. One forum will be held in Portsmouth on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 PM in the Levenson Room of the Portsmouth Public Library. Each forum will be recorded for broadcast on community access TV.

It might be interesting to attend their forum and ask questions. Apparently they have taken note of the number of candidates who have taken the pledge for this 2010 election season.

“The Granite State Fair Tax Coalition, formed in 2006 and based in Concord, is gaining ground in getting people involved in lobbying for a fair tax system in the state, according to Executive Director Cathy Silber.”
