To the Editor:

House Speaker Terie Norelli (D-Portsmouth) and state Rep. Susan Almy (D-Grafton) have arranged for a “tax summit” before the New Hampshire House Ways and Means Committee, Oct. 21-22.

The public can attend but may not speak or ask questions.

The choice of groups invited to participate shows complete disregard for actual citizens and “bona-fide” New Hampshire taxpayer-funded advocacy groups.

Groups like Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) and Granite State Fair Tax Coalition (GSFTC) will likely testify in favor of sales or income taxes or both, as they have done in the past.

See ITEP’s Testimony on HB 642

Among ITEP’s long list of funders are George Soros’ Open Society, The TIDES Foundation (where have you heard THAT name lately?) and the Rockefeller and Ford Foundations. The Citizens for Tax Justice Funding page has since been removed but the latest archive from 2008 shows these donors:

Arca Foundation
Annie E. Casey Foundation
Ben and Jerry Foundation
The Century Fund
Coydog Foundation
East Bay Community Foundation
Ford Foundation
Funding Exchange
J.C. Penney Foundation
Joyce Foundation
National Education Association
New York Community Trust

Public Welfare Foundation
Rockefeller Foundation
San Diego Community Foundation
The Schumann Foundation

(Editors Note: These donors are part of the Soros-funded network of progressive groups http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/viewSubCategory.asp?id=1303)

The deceptively named GSFTC is funded by David Rockefeller-funded World Council of Churches. This group has infiltrated our town meetings, shilling for an income tax, using the candidates’ Pledge as their target.

Susan Almy needs to know that we citizens and taxpayers of New Hampshire and our advocacy organizations should not have to compete with the outside money and influence of billionaires like George Soros and David Rockefeller and groups like ITEP and GSFTC.
