HOUSE VOTES – MAY 22, 2025
BAD NEWS. HB577 was passed by the Senate despite a valiant attempt by Sen. Ricciardi to stop the wholesale dissolution of single family neighborhoods.
We can’t let this happen with HB685, which would allow trailer homes (yes, the kind that are on wheels) on any residential property, anywhere. There was already a floor vote but you should still include it in your email because the bill went back to the Senate who amended it. The House now has to concur. The answer is still no, DO NOT CONCUR.
If these California-style leftist bills pass, our only recourse is to ask Gov. Ayotte to VETO them. So far over 670 people have agreed when they signed our petition which we send to her each day. We hope you will sign it too and pass it along to others.

Emailing your Reps should be done before Thursday 5/22 when the House will vote.
Here are the details and what to do:
SB170 takes more local control away from town boards regarding building.

SB174 would prohibit planning boards from considering the number of bedrooms a given unit or development has during the hearing and approval process.
https://gc.nh.gov/bill_status/legacy/bs2016/billText.aspx?id=1110&txtFormat=html&sy=2025
SB188 would allow independent permitting and inspections, and allowing local governments to authorize licensed engineers and architects to perform building code inspections leaving more chance that permits could be ‘bought’. We think this is a bad idea.

SB 281 prohibits municipalities from denying building or occupancy permits for property adjacent to class VI roads under certain circumstances.

SB282 relaxes stairway requirements in certain residential buildings.

HB685 allows trailer homes in any residential area. DO NOT CONCUR.
