The Hollis School System has hired some ‘education industry consultants’ and is about to go over a cliff… if anyone can decipher what ‘changes’ are being described from the educational ‘newspeak’ contained in this Hollis Journal article, please phone us.

On the other hand, getting back to the business of being educated in the basics is something from which minority children in Calfornia have already been proven to benefit by their enrollment in an Oakland Charter School for American Indians.

The classroom is spartan and as the student says, all they need is desks, a white board, pencils, paper, and books and a great teacher.

And the school seeks to hires those excellent teachers, not social engineers. They specify on their teacher recruiting page that “Multicultural specialists, ultra-liberal zealots, and college tainted oppression liberators need not apply”. You will notice that most of the children if not all, are minorities, some black, some Asian, but all wearing simple white shirts and khaki pants, and all behaving very respectfully.

Now we’re not advocating kids should have their heads shaved or have to clean toilets as punishment, but the idea of concentrating on skills and not values or political agendas is what seems to give these children success. (That is not to say their hard work, good behavior, and commitment to learning are not social values, but they are really the only important ones!)

What have we been saying? Goals 2000, IB, RTTT, NCLB, pitch all the new-age rhetoric and globalistic nonsense and get down to business. It works. We know.

Hollis take a lesson. These kids are getting REAL ‘social justice’.
