Voters rejected funding a private library in Gilmanton which was getting funded by the taxpayers. It is one of three libraries in the town with a yearly budget of yearly $70,500.
This was the town’s first elections in the SB-2 format and some blamed the 30% voter turnout on this factor. However, SB-2 does not change the fact that there is a deliberative session where voters can discuss the issues beforehand.
