Do you know who these people are or how they got elected?<\/p>\n<p>Among other things, they are looking to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; regulate shorelines<br \/>\n&#8211; mitigate &#8216;climate change&#8217;<br \/>\n&#8211; support &#8216;workforce housing&#8217;<br \/>\n&#8211; regulate and interconnect water systems<br \/>\n&#8211; support &#8216;regional planning&#8217;<br \/>\n&#8211; use of words &#8217;21st century&#8217; abound in documentation<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnht.org\/pdf\/NHARPC_Rpt_Dec09.pdf\">Regional Planning Report 2010<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also, read about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iclei.org\/\">ICLEI<\/a><br \/>\n<em>&#8220;ICLEI is a membership association of local governments and national and regional local government associations that have made a unique commitment to sustainable development. ICLEI is made up of 1107 local governments, representing over 400 million people worldwide.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p>They work directly with the mayors of cities and towns to impose Agenda 21, going over and above elected officials..<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Worldwide Movement of Local Governments<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><br \/>\n&#8220;Through its international campaigns and programs, ICLEI works with local governments to generate political awareness of key issues; establish plans of action toward defined, concrete, measurable targets; work toward meeting these targets through the implementation of projects; and evaluate local and cumulative progress toward sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>Our campaigns, programs, and projects promote Local Agenda 21 as a participatory, long-term, strategic planning process that addresses local sustainability while protecting global common goods. Linking local action to internationally agreed upon goals and targets such as Agenda 21, the Rio Conventions, the Habitat Agenda, the Millennium Development Goals and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation is an essential component. <\/p>\n<p>A fundamental component of our performance-based campaign model is the milestone process. Each campaign incorporates a five-milestone structure that participating local governments work through: (1) establish a baseline; (2) set a target; (3) develop a local action plan; (4) implement the local action plan; and (5) measure results.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iclei.org\/iclei-members\/iclei-members.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ICLEI is active in many of NH&#8217;s Cities&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rochester NH is one&#8230; as well as Dover, Epping, Gilford, Keene, Nashua, Plymouth, Portsmouth, and NH&#8217;s &#8216;Southwest Region&#8217;&#8230; perhaps more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a file that tells you what our &#8216;regional planners&#8217; have in store for you for 2010&#8230;including legislation filed on their behalf.
