Per an article in the Union Leader, on October 21 and 22 of 2009, Susan Almy of the NH House of Representatives will be holding a two-day tax ‘summit’ at the Legislative Office Building. October 21 the session will run from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM in LOB 202-4 and on October 22 it will run from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM in LOB 206-8.<\/p>\n

“If some of the highest-ranking state legislators were outspoken abortion opponents and they were caught organizing a secret legislative summit on state abortion policy, the left would go nuts. So it should come as no surprise that people are alarmed by the revelation last week of a so-called legislative economic summit organized by top House members who support an income tax.”<\/em><\/p>\n

This will not be a public hearing where ordinary taxpayers can attend and speak. Instead, there will be a list of groups touted as ‘experts’ – some from DC who list backers such as wealthy foundations and elitist groups from out of the country.<\/p>\n

The group ITEP testified for an income tax in March of 2009.<\/a><\/p>\n

After visiting their main website, we saw that George Soros, David Rockefeller and the TIDES foundation were listed as funding sources…<\/p>\n

The Open Society Institute is George Soros’ main group and the Tides Foundation is also Soros-funded, and is who funds ACORN, the group linked to Wade Rathke that you have likely heard so much about in the news..<\/p>\n

The Granite State Fair Tax Coalition is funded by a David Rockefeller group and has been infiltrating local town meetings to try to drum up support for trashing the candidates’ “Pledge” against broadbased taxes.<\/p>\n

Where are our real, grassroots local taxpayer groups? Were they even invited?<\/p>\n

Taxpayers and voters are urged to show up although they will not be allowed to speak. There will be an 8:30 press conference in the lobby of the LOB.<\/p>\n
