{"id":407,"date":"2008-11-30T16:09:43","date_gmt":"2008-11-30T20:09:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/?p=407"},"modified":"2017-12-28T10:56:55","modified_gmt":"2017-12-28T15:56:55","slug":"meredith-tax-bills-to-increase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/2008\/11\/30\/meredith-tax-bills-to-increase\/","title":{"rendered":"Meredith Tax Bills to Increase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEREDITH \u2014 Town taxpayers will see an increase in their tax bills this year as the town&#8217;s tax rate has been set.<\/p>\n<p>The 2008 tax rate has been certified by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue at $11.46 per $1,000 of assessed value. This is an increase of 55 cents per $1,000 from the 2007 tax rate.<\/p>\n<p>The town portion of the tax rate for 2008 is $3.97 from last year&#8217;s $3.70. This year&#8217;s local school portion is $4.02, an increase from last year&#8217;s $3.86 as the state portion is $2.17 while it was $2.15 in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The county portion increased from last year&#8217;s $1.20 to $1.30 this year.<\/p>\n<p>Tax bills will be issued shortly with a due date of Dec. 29. Anyone wishing to contest their assessments can request a review by filing an abatement application with the Assessing Department before March 1.<\/p>\n<p>The total assessed valuation of the town rose from $1.918 billion to $2.151 billion.
