{"id":303,"date":"2008-10-01T15:09:06","date_gmt":"2008-10-01T19:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/?p=303"},"modified":"2018-01-14T12:50:40","modified_gmt":"2018-01-14T17:50:40","slug":"nh-advantage-best-beauty-queen-answer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/2008\/10\/01\/nh-advantage-best-beauty-queen-answer\/","title":{"rendered":"NH Advantage Best Beauty Queen Answer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>According to Drew Cline&#8217;s blog, here is the answer NH Governor Lynch gave when asked how he would preserve the NH Advantage.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the gubernatorial forum at NHIOP, John Lynch and Joe Kenney were asked what is their plan for maintaining and preserving the NH Advantage. <strong>Lynch said we have to be careful about doing anything that affects our quality of life. \u201cBut I think our real advantage has to do with our people,\u201d Lynch said. Huh? Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine don\u2019t have \u201cwonderful people\u201d? He then mentioned tax credits to attract businesses and improving education.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe don\u2019t have a revenue problem in New Hampshire, we have a spending problem,\u201d Kenney said. \u201cIt\u2019s become quite apparent that if we don\u2019t get spending under control we\u2019re going to kill the NH Advantage.\u201d He said we need to repeal RGGI, which will increase business costs here. \u201cWe need to attract businesses here and not push them out.\u201d He said, \u201cI would put a staff person in the governor\u2019s office to address business concerns in New Hampshire.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On this one, I think Kenney got it; Lynch didn\u2019t. Our people are our real NH Advantage? Come on. It\u2019s our tax structure, governor.
