{"id":2695,"date":"2013-01-31T15:45:17","date_gmt":"2013-01-31T20:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/?p=2695"},"modified":"2017-12-14T12:48:33","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T17:48:33","slug":"vote-upcoming-on-cacr-1-super-majority","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/2013\/01\/31\/vote-upcoming-on-cacr-1-super-majority\/","title":{"rendered":"Vote Upcoming on CACR 1 Super Majority"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CACR 1, the so-called Super Majority Legislation, will be voted on in the NH House this Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the House Ways and Means Committee has labeled CACR 1 as inexpedient to legislate (ITL), which means it will likely not pass the House on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This bill is a proposed Constitutional Amendment that would require a 3\/5 majority vote of the legislature for ANY tax or fee increase. If approved by the House and Senate, CACR 1 would be placed on the ballot allowing YOU to have a say in how and if your taxes can be raised.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not only will this bill give NH taxpayers a voice regarding tax increases but as we all know, restraining the legislature\u2019s ability to tax also restricts their ability to increase spending.<\/p>\n<p>We need you to contact House Minority Leader Gene Chandler and House Minority Whip Sean Jasper and urge them not to oppose CACR 1!
