The Rochester City Council’s meeting agenda for this evening, 5 June, lists as Item #6 “Public Input Relative To Sustainable Communities Letter Authorization”; and as Item #12 “Sustainable Cities Agreement”. <\/p>\n

We are asking for citizens to be at the Rochester Council chambers (7:00 PM) to persuade the City Council to wait for full citizen input before acting on the authorization and agreement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Town of Windham is also fighting the same battle. Last night the Windham Board of Selectmen heard additional comments regarding the Sustainable Communities Initiative.<\/p>\n

Whether you live in Windham or Rochester, this issue affects all of us. The Sustainable Communities Initiative is an insidious program that will enable HUD and other organizations to sue our towns for non-compliance with the Fair Housing Act.<\/strong> <\/p>\n
