The health care compact bill (HB 1560)<\/a> is coming up in the House Commerce Committee<\/a> on March 6th at 2:00 PM in the LOB room 302. <\/p>\n

Please contact the House Commerce Committee<\/a> members and ask them for an “Ought to Pass” recommendation. Below is a short write up on the bill…<\/p>\n

The Health Care Compact, if passed by the NH Legislature and signed by the Governor and then agreed to by the U.S. Congress will allow New Hampshire the opportunity to have a greater voice in Health Care. The Health Care Compact will allow New Hampshire to look at ways of providing better, more affordable Health Care free of unfunded federal mandates and reform the more than 2,600 pages of federal rules and regulations that drive up the health care costs, complicate coverage, and restrict innovative ideas from being implemented in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

The Health Care Compact Will:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Allow New Hampshire to study and debate a Health Care Plan- that works best for Granite Stater\u2019s and allows a greater voice for our citizens in any health care reform.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Allow our state to propose reforms based on local factors and needs rather than a \u201cOne Size Fits All\u201d solution from Washington D.C.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Provide New Hampshire with the same amount of Their tax dollars to be spent based on our states needs without burdensome federal government directives and mandates that cost our state money.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Unlike the PPACA \u201cObama Care\u201d The Health Care Compact encourages a conversation among our citizens, health care providers, and the state government about Health Care reform that benefits Granite Staters<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Allows New Hampshire to pursue innovative ideas that will make health care financially sustainable, more accountable to our citizens, and that addresses health care reform at a state specific level rather than a \u201cone size fits all\u201d federal level.<\/p>\n

The Health Care Compact Will NOT:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 The Health Care Compact will NOT affect any program that Granite Staters do not want affected and does not propose any cuts to services, or benefits to seniors or Medicaid recipients. <\/p>\n

\u00b7 There is absolutely No Language in the Health Care Compact (HB 1560) that requires or suggests any cuts or reduction in benefits or services to any health care program, including Medicare or Medicaid.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 New Hampshire does not assume any financial liability for Medicare and is not required to incur any costs by passing HB 1560<\/p>\n

HB 1560, The Health Care Compact<\/a>, simply joins New Hampshire with the four states that have already joined the compact (Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Georgia) and the 10 other states considering this legislation this year (Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, Minnesota, Kansas, Alabama, Utah, Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee) to ask Congress for the authority and funding to make improvements to health care based on the needs and desires of Granite Staters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
