{"id":1618,"date":"2011-02-05T09:48:20","date_gmt":"2011-02-05T14:48:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/?p=1618"},"modified":"2017-12-18T10:03:19","modified_gmt":"2017-12-18T15:03:19","slug":"home-school-rulemaking-hb-545","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cnht.org\/news\/2011\/02\/05\/home-school-rulemaking-hb-545\/","title":{"rendered":"Home School Rulemaking (HB 545)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gencourt.state.nh.us\/legislation\/2011\/HB0545.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HB 545<\/a> would repeal the department of education\u2019s rulemaking authority for home education programs.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gencourt.state.nh.us\/house\/committees\/committeedetails.aspx?code=H05\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">House Education Committee<\/a> will hear this bill on 02\/08\/2011 at 02:00 PM in Representative&#8217;s Hall. <\/p>\n<p>You should contact the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gencourt.state.nh.us\/house\/committees\/committeedetails.aspx?code=H05\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Committee<\/a> to let them know of your support for this bill.<\/p>\n<p>Notes: Eliminating the HEAC is good, but eliminating DOE rule-making opens Pandora&#8217;s box. This bill eliminates open public discussion of the rules with review by the BOE and JLCAR; in its place there will district disparity, litigation and court rulings to define this inequitable home education law.  If DOE rule-making is bad, then eliminate it for everyone, not just homeschoolers.
