While it’s true that the FSP is not a political party, their members have become politically active and hold several seats in the NH legislature. Generally they tend to be on the conservative side, supporting less government, less taxes and more freedom. But like most groups, they do not all fit into one category. Some are pro-life, some are pro-choice, and others are actual liberals. Where our ideas collide is their promotion of UN-style “leveling the playing field” in housing. They think you should be able to live where you can’t yet afford and therefore have passed laws that have basically eradicated single-family zoning, thus eradicating the choice that 70% of people make when buying a home.<\/p>\n
The idea that they would want to centralize control of every one of the 254 unique towns and locations in NH with the same ‘rules’ is baffling. And what has happened is your vote at town meeting now means nothing.<\/p>\n
