The players:

Subject a. Carter Terenzini, sneaky, conniving, power hungry town admin. of Moultonboro
Subjects b. Josh Bartlett, Ms. Ryerson planning board members who did nothing wrong
Subjects c. Chair Joel Mudgett, Selectmen Russ Wakefield, and the other hand puppets
Subject d. Pete Minkow – as usual, the town counsel

(This is how public officials get caught lying and covering things up – while trying to fire planning board members they can’t control.)

The Smoking Gun is Carter Terenzini.

Well this is another fine mess he’s gotten us into. Before I begin, a statement to our BoS is in order:

When are you going to take back control of Town Hall and our local government?

The following letter (scroll down) was received by Josh Bartlett’s attorney Thursday in response to the Right to Know request he made earlier this week. It certainly clarifies who made the complaints and flies in the face of what many of the Selectboard have been telling us. I think I saw a petition according to and there was one petitioner acting alone as a private citizen, according to Selectmen Russ Wakefield are among the numerous misstatements we have heard in public meetings. “There was one petitioner. There were a number of people. There was a petition. I think I saw the word petition on top, but I can’t say for sure. I can’t remember who signed it. Did someone sign it? Was there an actual document? ”

Seriously? It was based upon one memo from your Town Administrator. How hard is that to recall?
The real facts of the matter are that this one letter, under the letterhead of the Town Administrator, signed by him as Town Administrator and sent to his boss, the Board of Selectmen and copied to the Town Counsel is the reason for the removal process.

Can any thinking person reasonably believe that the four selectmen present at the meeting with Town Counsel on July 18th, 2013 could not remember who it was from, what it was about and who signed it? And yet, that is what we heard. Russ Wakefield also stated that what Ms. Ryerson and Mr. Bartlett received in writing notifying them of the public hearings was essentially the same as what was in the “petition”. We know now that there was no petition and the information in Carter’s letter is not essentially the same so we have a Grand Canyon wide credibility gap. Huge, huge inconsistencies from some of the Selectboard. Remember also that Chair Joel Mudgett told us that based upon what was presented they had no choice but to go forward with the removal process. Obviously we now know that to be untrue.

So the lynchings will proceed as scheduled and according to the BoS they will be fair and unbiased. Hey, Russ told us that they didn’t even need to bring an attorney. “Trust your elected officials to do the right thing.”

To date and throughout this entire fiasco, trusting our elected officials to tell us the truth and offer an open an honest local government has been hard to come by when faced with bold faced misstatements and purposeful misdirection.

Trust your elected officials? How about giving us something to work with.

Since the hearings are going forward under extremely dubious circumstances (damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead or perhaps fire, ready, aim would be more apropos), perhaps the BoS can tell us why we were purposely misled and why one or more should not offer their immediate resignation. How can we have confidence in their decision making and to do the right thing to the best of their ability when they won’t tell the truth? I’m having a tough time with that and I think many more are as well.

It’s time for a changing of the guard at Town Hall.
