NH State Rep. William O’Brien today announced that he has filed a Federal Elections Commission complaint against the Sanders presidential campaign and the Australian Labor Party:

Title:

Rep. William O’Brien’s Statement on Filing a Complaint with the Federal Election Commission Against the Australian Labor Party and the Bernie 2016 Presidential Campaign

Release:

There is a long tradition in the Democrat Party of trading away American sovereignty for campaign contributions.

Under Bill Clinton, intelligence information showed that the Chinese mainland government funneled illegal contributions to the Democratic National Committee. And Barack Obama, being a “fellow citizen of the world” turned repeatedly to the world outside the United States for contributions to his presidential campaigns.

Bernie Sanders claims to be intent on rejecting the Clinton/Obama corruption and compromises as he achieves his political revolution. Unfortunately, however, the tradition of accepting foreign political contributions is not a Democrat custom that Bernie Sanders is willing to sweep away and relegate to the dustpan of history along with such quaint concepts as private property and freedom of speech.

Instead, and as has been documented by Project Veritas Action Fund, Bernie 2016 has introduced a new wrinkle to this now well-established Democrat practice of foreign support of their presidential campaigns: having the Australian Labor Party, a foreign political party with an internationalist agenda espousing the same socialist policies as Sen. Sanders, send and finance their employees and agents to work on his presidential campaign.

In response to the expose by Project Veritas Action Fund of the Australian Labor Party sending and paying for citizens of that country to work for Bernie 2016 prior to the February 9, 2016 New Hampshire Presidential Primary, I have filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission. This complaint requests that the FEC investigate this scandal, declare the fact that Bernie 2016 and the Australian Labor Party have committed these illegal acts, and impose appropriate fines and sanctions to prevent others from following their lead.

Project Veritas Action Fund’s report shows nothing less than a concerted effort by a foreign socialist party to improperly influence the 2016 presidential election and the acquiescence of Sen. Sanders’ campaign to that violation of our federal election laws. Voters in New Hampshire and, indeed, the nation require that their right to choose a president not be sold to foreign bidders. This complaint gives the FEC an opportunity to agree.
