HB 429 is an act permitting a child 16 years of age or older to withdraw from school with parental permission.

HB 429 does NOT lower the compulsory attendance age. It simply restores the prerogative of parents to withdraw their child if they feel it’s in his best interest to do so. Let parent find alternative learning opportunities, not just the school administrators.

HB 429 will be voted upon by the Senate Education Committee (Sen. Stiles, Forsythe, Prescott, Carson, Kelly) Tuesday, May 24th. Please email or call to ask the committee to vote Ought to Pass.
