This week on January 5th a vote is scheduled by the Senate Education Committee on HB 509, a bill requiring parental consent for psychological evaluations given in school.

This will take place at 9:00 AM in Room 103, Legislative Office Building (LOB).

You can testify that day or, write to the Senate Education Committee to ask them to recommend they OTP (Ought to Pass) this bill!

HB 509 would require school mental health personnel to obtain written consent of a parent or legal guardian prior to conducting any psychological evaluation or examination on a child.
