ROCHESTER — Poulin Auto Country has filed its appeal of General Motors’ decision to end its franchise agreement with the Route 11 dealership, energized by the support of the community and customers who rallied to the family business’ side.

“Even sales have picked up,” said owner Ron Poulin.

After selling GM Chevrolets for more than three decades, the business received a letter from GM earlier this month that addressed several factors behind the decision, such as sales effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

In the letter, the automaker says “we do not see that GM can have a productive business relationship with “Poulin Auto Country” over the long term,” and it gave the business until the end of the month to appeal.
